And Baby Makes FOUR!

Surprise... I am 10 weeks pregnant, due Thanksgiving Day!

So, far I had horrible morning sickness for about 4 weeks and then it just went away. I never had it with Savannah, and so everyone is telling me we are having a boy. I am still up in the air about the gender, but we will definitely find out in 10 more weeks (I can't wait the entire pregnancy). Also, I can't stop eating. I already gained a good 11 pounds while doing the infertility treatments back in  January. After the miscarriage we were just waiting for my next cycle to start to do another round of IUI, but it never came. One day I just decided to take a pregnancy test and boom- pregnant. Apparently, it is pretty common to get pregnant after a miscarriage.

More details to follow later, just wanted to share our good news now.

Snakes

(Background: Savannah is in bed, and supposed to be sleeping)

Savannah: Daddy, come here!

Daddy: (Brian walks in Savvy's room) What?

Savannah: Daddy, it sounds like there are snakes in my room.

Daddy: I made sure that there are no snakes in your room.

Savannah: But it sounds like a rattle snake and it is making a "ssssssss" noise. Please make it go away.

Daddy: There are no snakes in here- I promise.

Savannah: Oh. Okay. Good night Dada.

My New Blog

I needed to take my mind off some serious stuff going on and became hooked on Pinterest. As I was pinning I came up with the idea of creating a homekeeping blog... not housekeeping. I want to improve the way I keep our home and wanted to learn by doing. I created this new blog called, "Homekeeping for All" so that I can try new techniques, products, and strategies to keep up our home.

Afternoon at Disneyland

We made an impromptu Disneyland trip on Saturday. Small World is Savannah's favorite ride. I love how excited she gets when she see's the big building.

Shellac Nail

I have fallen in love with Shellac nails. It's like gel but MUCH better. It is thick (but feels light weight), shinny, and lasts about 3 weeks. The best part is that it DOES NOT chip. I have been going to see Melanie for almost 8 months and have grown close with her. I call it nail therapy. I love being around happy people and that's Melanie.

She asked me to post her new special on my blog and Pinterest:

Mention Pinterest and get $10 off a Shellac Manicure. She is at Salon Lujon in Fullerton and the number is (714) 738-1882.

I promise you wont be disappointed and will get hooked!

The amazing Melanie!

Pinterest

After many, many people told me about Pinterest I finally decided to see what the hype was all about. Actually, it wasn't until my mother-in-law told me about something she posted on her board that got me really excited to finally take that leap and sign up. Now, I am completely hooked. I have created about 20 boards and can't stop looking. My favorite thing to do is look at home decor for our next house. With the help of Pinterest I could have every room planned out and look as if a professional decorated it. I also love the DIY (do it yourself- had to ask Brian what that meant). I don't have a ton of free time but when I do I know to look to my Pinterest.

Pepperoncinis

My new favorite food I have been craving every day are pepperoncinis. I absolutely hated them a couple months ago, but now I can't get enough. Yum.

Sunshine after the Storm

A couple weeks ago Brian and I found out that I was pregnant. We were so excited and basically told everyone right away. I have been undergoing infertility treatments and were so excited it worked on the first month. The doctor keeps a close eye on you once you get pregnant with daily blood tests. My HCG levels were perfect one day and then the next they fell below five. It was incredibly difficult to have to tell everyone what had happened. We were disappointed, but our doctor said we could start trying the treatments again in March.

I was not going to blog about this, but then something happened today. A friend of mine, Jill Brady, gave me an amazing gift. Everything was orange and yellow representing sunshine. It was packaged so perfectly with such detail and creativity. I appreciated it so much. It made me feel special, but also made me feel that it was okay to talk about what happened. Not to run from it, but to grow from the experience.

Thank you Jill.

Making Cookies

We made cookies for Brian's home teaching families. Savannah got really into the flower and sugar and was all over her face. I couldn't help but snap a quick picture since she looked so cute with a flowered nose!

Valentine's Day

We made hand-made butterfly valentines for Savannah's class. We added jewels, eyes and antennas to the lolly pops. Then I gave it a spraying of glitter spray to give it a sparkle.

We gave Ms. Amber (Savannah's teacher) this valentine. I traced her hand and glued a lolly pop to it.

Savannah at her school's Valentine's Day party.

I was in charge of making cream cheese and jelly sandwiches. I thought it would be cute if they were in a heart shape for the party.

We made this for Gammy and Papa since they were going to be coming into town on Tuesday. Savannah painted it all by herself.

Karate

Savannah is starting Karate on Monday to help with her balance and coordination. The instructor did an assessment to see if she was strong enough to do karate and did very well. Brian and I were impressed with how much she was able to do. She learned how to block, kick and punch. I am excited to see how well she does with this activity, but I'm a little concerned she is going to use her knew skills on some kid at school.

Savannah will also be doing swim lessons and ballet to help strengthen her right side of her body.

My Birthday

The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock

Savannah LOVES her primary CDs very much. Her favorite song is The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock. I caught her rocking out to it today on my video camera.

(Note: I don't think you can see the videos on an iPad- at least not on Brian's)

Found these cool photos

I was going through photos and found these of my in-laws.
Very Cool.

1 am thoughts

Tonight, I couldn't sleep. It's not as if I have a lot on my mind, but I'm just wide awake. As I have gotten a little older this problems grows more intense. I will fall asleep at 8 or 9 and then walk up at 12 or 1. It's very annoying.

Tonight, instead of just laying in bed, I got up and walked the dog. Then I got on the computer and looked through pictures while listening to music. After that was over, and still very awake, I looked through all my old blog posts. It's interesting that there is a clear line of when I stopped writing really personal things on my blog and turned it into a photo blog. I think that's when I started writing in a personal journal.

My journey going back in time through my blog was very strange. It's so weird how time goes by so quickly. My first post was about getting accepted into Chapman for my MBA. Now, I teach there. Most of the early years of the blog was all about Lily- now, we can't stop trying to give her away. I remember some of the posts, like the pregnant belly updates, but others I completely forgot about. I am so glad that I have this blog- if anything, historical purposes.

My birthday is right around the corner and I am turning 27. I will officially be in my late 20's. This is supposed to be a big year for me- completion of my Ph.D., maybe another baby, move to a real house. I also can't believe I have a 3 year old. This past year was a major transition year for our family. I was really good at my job but making a big jump in career paths was inevitable. It was a financial step back and a starting over point in seniority but it was so necessary for so many reasons. Brian finished school and started his career. It's so strange to see him out of school and back pack free. I think that him being out of school has been a huge relief for him, but it's difficult for me. We just want to play, but I need to do school work. All my classes are over, but the hard part is going to start and I am dreading it. I have so much to do... maybe that's why I can't sleep... a looming dissertation.

Update: Still can't go to bed, but my cousin's blog is the perfect solution. I can look at it forever and check out all of her pinterest stuff. Here's the link in case you want to take a look too http://overthebigmoon.blogspot.com/.
