I was checking out my grades for this Fall semester and I realized that I have been in the Ph.D. program for 16 months now- which is as long as it took me to complete my master's. Although I did the masters in record time to be done before Savannah came I wish I was done with my Ph.D. I have been feeling REALLY burnt out on school lately (which could have something to do with going to school my WHOLE life or that I am going to start as actual faculty next month and feel beyond the student level at this point). I am ready to get the course-work part done with, so I can start on my dissertation.
Brian is only 7 months away from finishing his program. He is taking a leave of absence from work in February, March and April to complete his hospital internship in outpatient work with aphasia patients (which is a communicative disorder cause by neurological damage- usually people who have had strokes or TBIs).
Savannah is doing better at Pre-School, but is very shy. She goes twice a week, but we might increase that to 3 days when she turns two in January. Brian is working with her to overcome her whispering/shyness by using an echo microphone.
